Frequently Asked Questions - Cycle Wild Scotland

I’m a very experienced mountain biker and hill walker with my Mountain Leader award. Would I be exempt from the Trail Cycle Leader training?
No, there are no exemptions – everyone has to do the training and assessment in full.

I haven’t got a current first aid certificate. Can I still do the TCL training?
Yes, you can do the training and assessment but you will need to get a first aid certificate in order to get the award signed off.

What is included in the course fee?
The fee includes tuition and/or assessment only. Equipment, travel to Aviemore, accommodation, meals and personal insurance are not included; we will be happy to book or advise you on all of these.

Will the group be the same ability?
We do try to make sure that all the riders in a group are of a similar skill and fitness level. It is therefore important that you are realistic about your own riding ability. If you are unsure, we recommend that you give us a call and we can advise you. We also offer private tuition for individuals or small groups.
