Bike School Course Details

Please note that the descriptions we give are a rough guide only and that, ideally, we like to talk to all our bike school clients before they book to make sure they are on the right course

Our courses are based on teaching the core skills of mountain biking – set up, balancing, body position, track stands, cornering, braking, wheelies,  bunny hops etc.  Learning these skills is the key to a lifetime of mtb joy.

Level 1 Course

Ratio 1:6 (max)
One day – 10.00 to 4.30 – £100 per person
This covers the essential of mountain biking – suitable for relative newbies as well as experienced mountain bikers who want to learn or re-visit the basics to improve their performance.  This is also highly recommended for bikers going for leadership awards – e.g. British Cycling’s MTB Level 2.  You will learn the core skills –  balancing, body position, ascending, cornering, braking – that will put you in control of your mountain bike, give you confidence and help you to get more out of your riding right away.

For details on how the day will run, please see this document Bike School Scotland Level One Course Information.

Level 2 Course

Ratio 1:6 (max)
One day – 10.00 to 4.30 – £100 per person
This one day course is aimed at experienced riders who want to further develop and improve their performance. Already sound in the core skills, you will be looking for a range of techniques and moves to help you enjoy more technical terrain, obstacles and conditions.  Course content will be very much client-centred and adapted to help meet your needs and goals, as you prep for say, Enduro comps, your next big mtb trip or a professional leader qualification (e.g. BC Level 3 award).
