The New Remote award gives riders the knowledge and skills to lead in remote environments extending the remit of leaders holding Off-road leader and Trail Leader qualifications.

The award is perfect for current British Cycling Leaders who want to extend their remit and go further from a road, without going onto more technical terrain

The 3 day combined training and assessment includes

  • e-learning – 2-3 hours of e-learning to complete online before the practical days
  • Practical days – 3-day in-person training and assessment with a British Cycling Accredited Provider.

Full Course Details and Booking

  • You will need to be qualified as a British Cycling Off-Road Leader (Fundamentals), Trail Leader (Level 2), or Trail Cycle Leader.
  • You must have substantial experience in leading rides in your current award’s environment
  • You must have the fitness and experience of riding in remote non-technical environments for up to 4-5 hours, on 3 consecutive days. This should be evidenced in a log of rides/experience.  We have a downloadable
  • You should be comfortable with basic trailside repairs, including
    • punctures (tubes and tubeless)
    • brake adjustments
    • headsets adjustments
    • gears and transmission adjustments
    • emergency single-speed conversion
